Faith

I find myself often reluctant to share my faith. Not because I'm ashamed of my God, but because I'm ashamed to be associated with others who worship Him. There are some very mean people in the world masking their hate and intolerance with religious rhetoric. I am not one of those people.

I am by no means flawless. I sometimes have a drink too many. Or slip a few choice words into the conversation. And I can be very selfish.

But I am forever trying to change myself for the better because of my relationship with Jesus Christ {My Testimony}.

I believe that He saved my life {Easter Sunday Blessings}.

I believe in God's perfect timing {Timing is Everything}.

I believe in prayer {IJM Global Prayer Gathering 2013}.

I believe in the Kingdom of God {Taking Care of my Own First}.

I believe that everything happens for a reason {Father's Day}.

I believe that every person was intentionally created {Shine}.

I believe in counting your blessings {Sunday Blessings XXII}.

I believe Christ can be found in all religions {Uganda: April 14, 2009}.

Because of Jesus, I believe in hope {How I Spent my 21st Birthday}.

But most of all, the faith I have come to call my own is one solely based on the principle of love.

Love God.

Love others.
Love yourself.

  2. WOW, thank you for your honest and kind words!! Yes, there are people using their religion or stance to put down others. I in fact was a victim of a church's misuse of their scriptures, which should have been to promote love and understanding and instead was used to make the congregation feel imprisoned.
You focus on the true meaning of faith, and that is the life and lifestyle of Jesus. You are my new inspiration!!!

Thank you for stopping bye our blog btw!! Would you like to do a button swap?

  5. I love this! I too have faith but often times do not tell people about it first because I don't want them to make this negative assumption about me. I feel like there are a lot of people who believe in God who have love in their hearts but that often times gets over shadowed by those who use God as a weapon. I have always said the best way to share God with others in your life is to live by example. Thanks for doing just that!
